The power increases across Series 6, 7, and 8 come from ECU remapping and revised turbo actuators, not a different engine block, and apex seal and vacuum line wear risk is essentially identical across all three. Series 8 cars have a marginally smoother sequential turbo handoff thanks to a slightly larger primary turbo and revised control, but this is a refinement, not a reliability fix. Outside Japan, nearly every car you will find is the original 1992-1995 tune since export ended in 1995. Buy on documented maintenance history, compression test results, and rebuild records, not on the power figure.
