Request full Ferrari diagnostic scan printout including F1 clutch wear percentage, walk away if above 50% without price adjustment
Verify all 5 NHTSA recalls are completed via VIN check before any money changes hands
Pressure test the entire cooling system and check for 2EEA coolant temperature fault codes
Inspect brake and clutch reservoir hoses visually for swelling, cracking or fluid seepage
Check airbag warning light and ABS/ASR warning lights are completely off on startup
Obtain full service history showing regular specialist maintenance, avoid any car with unknown history or records that cannot be verified

The Challenge Stradale's extra 25 hp comes from intake, exhaust and ECU changes, not from stronger internals, so it is not inherently more reliable than the standard Modena tune, and it shares the same F1 clutch wear problem. The CS does use a lighter flywheel and sharper clutch calibration, which some owners find more abrupt in daily driving. Pick between the two based on intended use, comfort versus track focus, rather than expecting a reliability difference, and check the F1 clutch wear percentage on either version before buying.
